6 Miles, Hunger Games and Birthday Feast!

Ok, I will admit that yes, Amanda, you started this, me blogging or at least me thinking about blogging. That said, I am going to try to live up to my blogs name and incorporate a little of my 3 F's in each blog.

Today, I ran another 6 miles on the dreaded Treadmill, a.k.a the dreadmill. This is the second time in two days I have completed that distance. For those of you who know me, you are probably wondering how I managed. Therefore, I will fill you in on my little secret: Yesterday, I started watching the movie, "The Hunger Games," today I finished it. Today's portion of the movie was pretty intense, and I will admit to almost falling off the darn mill, when a diabolical creature appeared to be jumping out of the screen at me. Don't worry, I survived, might have to pick a less intense movie the next time though! Hopefully my movie, will be scenery moving around me as I run outside, praying the roads are less treacherous tomorrow.

My other entertainment today consisted of finishing the book The Battered Heiress Blues, and working on this:

Lorelei's birthday sweater - Almost finished! Good thing we aren't celebrating her birthday until Saturday, or I would be a very busy knitter tomorrow!!

Another fun event also involved my family - today, Phil became another year older. To celebrate I fixed:

No birthday would be complete without some kind of fattening sweet. Therefore, Erynn made brownies, topped with Mint Moose Tracks, and Hot Fudge! YUM!! Sure am glad I ran that six miles now!

"For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

I am so thankful that today He did indeed protect me from calamity, albeit a little one. God also has given me hope for my future, I know this year, I will once again have full time employment. I also have hopes (bucket list items) I want to complete this year, currently all of which revolve around running. They are:  Gazelle Girls 1/2 Marathon, River Bank Run 25K, The Marquette 1/2 or Full Marathon, Park 2 Park 1/2 Marathon and the Grand Rapids Marathon. The last two may or may not happen it depends on whether I run the 1/2 or full at Marquette. Speaking of hopes, what do you hope God has in store for your future?
